Dr. Stuart Shoemaker is a board-certified veterinary surgeon with over 40 years of clinical experience. He has been a managing partner at Idaho Equine Hospital, an eight-doctor referral equine surgery center, where he directed the Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine division. Dr. Shoemaker has been an active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and served on its board from 2006 to 2009. He is a member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and an adjunct professor at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Shoemaker is a consultant for Boise State University and serves on its board for Research and Economic Development. He also provides counsel to the Animal Research Vivarium at Boise State University.
Dr. Shoemaker received his DVM from Colorado State University in 1984 and completed a surgical residency at Louisiana State University in 1989. He became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1993.
